Monica Now Available on Microsoft AppSource

LONDON, U.K. — September 28, 2021 — MiiCare today announced the availability of its digital health coach and companion, Monica, on Microsoft AppSource, an online cloud marketplace providing tailored line-of-business solutions.

MiiCare’s Monica provides holistic care for seniors by powering their homes with AI-driven technology that can detect, predict, and prevent health conditions before they arise. Turning the home of an older adult into an extension of the doctor’s clinic allows healthcare providers and loved ones to track the daily activities and vitals of the patient and get actionable insights on how to better manage their health needs.

Monica leverages the power of Microsoft Azure and uses IoT Hub to collate information gathered from a variety of sensors and health devices. Monica uses several Microsoft Azure Services including Data Analytics, AI, and Cognitive Services to build a behavioral model of the user and to interact with them, their family members, and care providers.

With the ever-increasing demand and stress placed on the healthcare system, MiiCare allows healthcare professionals to prioritize care requirements more effectively and support an older adult’s adherence to their wellness plan. MiiCare’s Monica reminds seniors to check their vitals, hydrate and stay active, while establishing a unique health and behavioral baseline for every subscriber. MiiCare’s data-rich dashboard alerts healthcare professionals to abnormalities, empowering them to make informed decisions that prevent unnecessary hospital visits.

As a digital health coach and companion for older adults, MiiCare’s Monica reduces feelings of isolation in seniors. Whether saying ‘hello’ by name, playing music, or reminding the elderly to take their medication in a friendly, non-patronizing way, Monica is a proactive companion who can engage socially to prevent loneliness and promote healthy habits and behaviors. Loved ones can get peace of mind by using the ‘check in’ feature built into the MiiCare app.

“We’re really pleased to be partnering with Microsoft,” said Andy Smith, Head of Partnerships at MiiCare. “Microsoft can help us extend our reach with MiiCare so we can expand our service and reach more older adults and help them remain healthy, safe and connected to loved ones. We also hope our service can empower healthcare professionals to provide excellent care for seniors. As a Microsoft Partner, we have received advice and guidance from technical and healthcare teams to design and deliver a product that meets the requirements and needs of the elderly.”

Toby Bowers, General Manager, Business Applications Group, Microsoft Corp., said, “We’re happy to welcome MiiCare and their product Monica to Microsoft AppSource, which gives our customers access to the best solutions available from our extensive partner ecosystem. Microsoft AppSource offers partner solutions such as Monica from MiiCare to help customers meet their needs faster.”
